There’s no send off rule in AFL footy, but former Richmond Football Club 200-gamer Joel Bowden discovered there is when you play with the NT Electoral Commission.

The Infrastructure Minister and Johnston MLA was “asked to leave” Eaton polling booth for boisterous behaviour as voters showed up for pre-polling on Thursday.

A statement received on Friday from the NTEC confirmed the incident, which was also understood to have been caught on video.

“There was an incident at Eaton regarding Joel Bowden, where he was asked to leave the area,” the NTEC statement said.

“We have advised the ALP of this incident.”

The Labor Party has been contacted for comment.
