JUST under half a million ounces of gold will be mined annually in the first four years at the Mount Todd Mine.
The NT News revealed yesterday that Vista Gold Australia was given approval to begin work at the old mine. The company is looking for strategic partners to back the project.
Vista Gold Australia director and general manager Brent Murdoch said he hoped to secure partners soon.

“We’re continuing to drill, we’re continuing to find a lot more gold near the mine. So this project will have a mine life far exceeding what we’ve currently advertised,” he said.
Mining and Industry Minister Nicole Manison said the approval was a boost for local jobs and the economy. ”Another gold mine means more jobs, more business, and a stronger economy,” she said.
