Dr Heggie said the patient was not in the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Darwin Hospital but was receiving support through the ward.

Coronavirus- An important message from the NT Faculty of Emergency Medicine

Speaking on ABC Darwin Dr Heggie also warned there would be an increase in the number of cases and stressed that people should practise social distancing and stay home whereever possible.

“We have to prepare for an increase in the number of people who need that high level of support,” he said.
