Next year is set to be a huge year for Northern Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner – both politically and personally.
The NT News can exclusively reveal that Mr Gunner and his wife, ABC journalist Kristy O’Brien, are expecting their first child in April 2020.
Their baby will be the fifth generation of Gunners born in the Territory.
Ms O’Brien – who is a twin – is almost six months pregnant. And in a surprise twist, her twin brother Mitch and his partner are also expecting their baby in the same week.
Mr Gunner said he was overjoyed that his family was about to get one person bigger.
“We are so excited about having a kid and experiencing the joy — the beautiful mess — of being a parent,” Mr Gunner said.
