ACT joins Northern Territory push in fight to restore euthansia rights

THE Northern Territory and Australian Capital Territory have joined forces in the fight to claw back our right to decide on voluntary euthanasia.
The letter, comes off the back of the NT News’ Our Right to Choose campaign, launched this week.

The letter was signed by NT Attorney-General Selena Uibo (inset) and the ACT’s Human Rights Minister Tara Cheyne calling for the Kevin Andrews’ Bill to be repealed because it went against Australia’s human rights obligations.
The letter was sent to Attorney-General Christian Porter, Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack and Assistant Regional Development and Territories Minister Nola Marino.
Chief Minister Michael Gunner said Territorians deserved respect.

“The Territory’s strength is its people and people power is what will really put pressure on the federal government to stop treating Territorians like second-class citizens,” he said. “Get on the phone or write a letter to the Nats and Libs. Sign the NT News petition.
Ms Cheyne said it was a simple legislative change the would create equality across Australia.
