THE person behind the Territory’s vaccine rollout has resigned.
Michelle McKay has resigned to take up a job in the Public Health Network in South Australia.
Health Minister Natasha Fyles on ABC Radio this morning said Ms McKay, the Territory’s Vaccine Lead, had resigned several weeks ago.
Ms McKay has led the Territory’s vaccine rollout which has seen the NT lead the way in becoming the most vaccinated population percentage-wise in the nation.
“We certainly thank Michelle for all her hard work and her leadership in this space, and wish her well,” Ms Fyles said.
NT Health Medicine Management executive director Associate Professor Bhavini Patel will take over Ms McKay’s role.
