Nominate them today for the 2023 Northern Territory Training Awards.
These prestigious awards, now in their 68th year, celebrate the Territory’s best and brightest students, apprentices, trainees, teachers, trainers, training providers and employers.
The awards offer finalists the chance to access opportunities in the industry and be part of an elite group of ambassadors who represent the Territory’s best in vocational education and training.
Winners and runners-up can win up to $3000 cash and eligible winners have the opportunity to represent the Territory at the Australian Training Awards – the peak national awards that showcase best practice in vocational education and training.
Leanne Pears, who runs Frontier Marine Services with her husband Dave, says winning Small Employer of the Year at the 2022 NT Training Awards was a great achievement.
“We are excited to be recognised as a small business valuing training and education,” she said.
“With meaningful training, there is no doubt in my mind that long-term benefits impact stakeholders across the board, including employers, employees, customers and Australia as a whole, in contributing to our sovereign capability.
“Frontier Marine Services are committed to follow the path of education and training for years to come.
“Training is our future – and the future is bright.”
Frontier Marine Services went on to receive the bronze award for Australian Small Employer of the Year at the Australian Training Awards.
There are 12 award categories, comprising of seven individual and five business categories.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year
Austin Asche Apprentice of the Year
School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year
Trainee of the Year
VET in Schools Student of the Year
VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year
Vocational Student of the Year
Business:
Small Training Provider of the Year
Large Training Provider of the Year
Industry Collaboration of the Year
Small Employer of the Year
Large Employer of the Year
