New NT licence designed to be more recognisable with added security features

The NT Government has released their new updated driver’s licences and proof of age cards

THE NT Government has released its new updated driver’s licence and proof of age cards.

The new cards are designed to align with international standards around security and to protect Territorians from identity crime.

The new design is also supposed to make the ID cards more recognisable.

From November, anyone getting a new or replacement Territory licence will receive the new designs.

Other types of ID cards that will change include proof of age cards, Alcohol Ignition Lock (AIL) drivers licences and a number of occupation authority ID cards that are issued by the Motor Vehicle Registry (MVR).

Anyone with concerns should contact the relevant division to discuss the changes.

All Territorians are urged to use this news as a reminder to update their contact details with the MVR to ensure any new or replacement licences are sent to the correct address.
