CASUARINA’S new entertainment precinct was a hit the minute doors opened on Wednesday.
The $34 million precinct, dubbed The Quarter, opened with 12 new restaurants including an al fresco dining area, kids playground, TimeZone and civic centre.
Casuarina Square centre manager Mardi Ashkine said it was a long time in the making and a great way to revitalise the centre as a hub in the northern suburbs.
“There’s nothing like this in Darwin,” she said.
“The beauty is you can come out and have a meal, the kids can play, you can go to the cinema or time zone — it really is something for the whole family.”
Seven new restaurants to Darwin in the precinct include Grill’d, Max Brenner, Mad Mex, The Groove Train, PappaRich, Nutrition Station Café, Sushi Bay, Baskin Robbins and Chatime.
The upgrade also included 150 new car parks in addition to replacing those removed for the new precinct, which have smart parking which tells drivers the number of available spots.
Casuarina will celebrate the new precinct with Casfest, a weekend of cheap food and entertainment this weekend.
The Quarter will open seven nights a week until late with all restaurants licensed venues.
