THE first group of Australians repatriated from overseas to the Territory is expected to leave quarantine today.

On Thursday, October 22 QF110 flew direct from Heathrow in the UK to Darwin, with passengers transferred through the RAAF side of the airport to Howard Springs’ quarantine facility.

The flight was the first of eight which will bring home 1315 Australians.

There were 160 passengers on board, including 22 kids.

The NT News understands most of the infants were born overseas and this will be their first flight back to Australia.

It is believed the Aussies will be released from Howard Springs at midday, with most being bussed directly to Darwin Airport.
