MATHEW Alexander has pleaded guilty to the hit-and-run that killed Palmerston schoolboy Jack Sultan-Page.

The 23-year-old faced Darwin Magistrates Court on Thursday, when defence lawyer Peter Maley said his client wanted to finalise charges including methamphetamine possession and dangerous driving.

But Magistrate Elisabeth Armitage adjourned the case until Alexander had been dealt with on a hit-and-run causing death charge in the NT Supreme Court.

Mr Maley said his client would plead guilty to the matter before Justice Stephen Southwood, and predicted he would “receive a partly suspended sentence”.

A 24-hour police manhunt led to Alexander’s arrest on November 2, 2014.

Jack Sultan-Page, 9, was riding his bicycle in Moulden when he was reportedly hit by a white Toyota HiLux allegedly being driven by Alexander, who fled the scene.

Alexander was one of three men who appeared in the Darwin Magistrates Court this week for hit-and-run offences.

Clifford Issell was charged with hit-and-run causing death over an alleged incident on the Stuart Highway on May 6 this year.

Ryan Richards appeared on the same charge from an alleged incident on May 25.

Both will face court in August.
