Man from New Delhi repatriation flight tests positive for Covid-19 in Howard Springs

Two miners as well as a repatriated Australian have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Northern Territory over the past 24 hours.

NSW records 38 new locally acquired Covid cases

UPDATED: TWO workers from the Tanami gold mine outbreak have tested positive for Covid-19.

The men were in close contact with another worker at the mine who later tested positive.

They have been classed as locally-acquired, despite being quarantined in Howard Springs for the entirety of their infectious period.

A statement from the Chief Minister’s office said neither men were any risk to the community.

It follows a repatriated Australian who flew from New Delhi who tested positive earlier on Thursday.

EARLIER: A REPATRIATED Australian has tested positive for Covid-19 in the Northern Territory overnight.

The 30-year-old man, who arrived from the repatriation flight from New Delhi on July 6, is asymptomatic and is under the care of NT Health at the Centre for National Resilience.

Since repatriation flights to the Northern Territory began on 23 October 2020, 9026 international arrivals have undertaken quarantine at the Howard Springs Centre for National Resilience.

A total of 128 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported from international repatriation.

The total number of cases diagnosed in the Northern Territory is 187.

There are currently 9 active cases in the Northern Territory.
