A man has died and another hospitalised after a serious two-vehicle crash which has closed a highway southwest of Darwin.

A man has died and another has been injured after a two-vehicle crash on the Victoria Highway near Timber Creek overnight.
The crash happened at 7.50pm on Friday, just west of the Victoria River Roadhouse.

A man of unknown age was found dead at the scene while another was taken to Katherine Hospital.
NT Police advised that the Victoria Highway remains closed west of the Victoria River Roadhouse.
The Major Crash Unit are investigating.
