A 77-year-old man has been taken to hospital after being bitten by a snake in Darwin’s rural area on Sunday night.
St John Ambulance Territory Duty manager Craig Garraway said the man was bitten in Howard Springs.

“About 8.30pm we had a report out of Howard Springs of a 77-year-old male being bitten by a snake, again with snakes being on move (at this time of year),” he said.

“He was starting to show signs and symptoms of envenomation so paramedics quickly got him to hospital to be assessed and treated at the Royal Darwin Hospital.”
