Limbunya is 650km southwest of Katherine along the Buntine Highway and Maryfield is 200km south of Katherine on the Stuart Highway.
The properties are considered to be among the best in Australia following significant investment by North Star.
Infrastructure investments at both properties over the past decade include solar-power, low-maintenance bores, hundreds of kilometres of new fences and aerial seeding of pastures.
According to industry professionals this has resulted in a low-cost, highly productive and turnkey beef production operation capable of operating and growing for the next 100 years.
North Star’s improvement investments are understood to be one of the largest by a private landowner in the Northern Territory.
The purchasing opportunity follows renewed attention on Australia’s beef industry and high-quality, environmentally sustainable cattle properties in stable jurisdictions such as Australia.
Expressions of interest are being managed through joint selling agents CBRE and Nutrien Harcourts.
CBRE Agribusiness regional director Danny Thomas said the assets would allow the buyer to take a leading role in Australia’s beef market and a significant player in the global protein supply chain.
“There are many high quality stations in the Territory, but none that I have observed have had this level of capital expenditure, executed with fastidious attention to detail, operating a meticulous and well thought out production system which seeks to maximise returns at all levels,” he said.
“Maryfield and Limbunya are testament to Colin Ross’ vision and drive to develop a best in class beef business that can operate year-round.”
Nutrien Harcourts Katherine agent Olivia Thompson said the opportunity was one of the most rare in recent history.

It is anticipated inspections will commence early February.
