NT Police charged a 43-year-old learner driver with high range drink driving in Katherine over the weekend.
About 5pm on Sunday, police observed a vehicle being driven erratically on Bicentennial Road.
The driver was apprehended for a road side breath test and taken to Katherine Police Station where he allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.295.
The man was charged with: high range drink driving failing to display ‘L’ plates.

He was bailed to appear in Lajamanu Court on March 16 2021.
Superintendent Craig Garland said it was extremely disappointing that members of the community continued to drink and drive.
“We as a community are dealing with the trauma of a recent road fatality where alcohol was involved,” he said.
“To be almost six times over the limit is simply inexcusable and extremely dangerous.”
