TIME and vouchers are quickly running out for the Home Improvement Scheme (HIS).
The scheme, launched as economic stimulus amid the coronavirus recession, was anticipated to hand generate about 20,000 vouchers.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner said nearly 16,000 vouchers had been handed out since the scheme was launched.
“That’s an estimated economic impact of around $200 million,” Mr Gunner said.
“There’s about 4000 HIS vouchers to get out the door,” he said.
“The business grants scheme has been working their little bums off and we should get all those vouchers out there by Christmas.”
Touring a business which has kept afloat because of the scheme, Mr Gunner said the Home Improvement Scheme had succeeded in stimulating the economy.

“You could easily argue our number one jobsaver has been the Home Improvement Scheme,” he said.
