Direct flights to Bail are set to make a return after a three-week hiatus due to upgrade works at Darwin Airport.
Jetstar temporarily stopped flights to Denpasar for three weeks from October 9, due to runway works at the Darwin Airport.
The latest stage of the Department of Defence’s development at the airport overlapped with the timing of flights, leaving plenty of Territorians’ build-up escape plans in limbo.
However, from next week Jetstar will resume their direct service with up to six flights a week between the two destinations.
The first flight will take off from Darwin on October 31, using an Airbus A320 aircraft.
Jetstar chief operating officer Matt Franzi said he was glad the popular service was back up and running for Territorians looking to get away.
“We’re back flying Territorians direct to Bali from next week,” Mr Franzi said.
“These services have always been incredibly popular, so we know the three-week suspension of the route for runway upgrade works was frustrating.
“A big thanks to customers for their understanding and patience and we look forward to welcoming them back on board.”
To celebrate the return of the non-stop service Jetstar will offer one-way fares between Darwin and Bali for $149, as part of the Friday Fare Frenzy sale.
The eight-hour sale starts at 10.30am and ends at 6.30pm ACST, unless sold out prior, on October 27, with flights then returning to $204 afterwards.
Jetstar expects to carry up to 95,000 customers to and from the two locations for 2023, despite the three week lull in flights.
