International ambassadors representing more than seven foreign countries make up a number of trade delegations in Darwin as part of the City of Darwin’s inaugural two-day Darwin Fusion event that starts today.

Mayor Kon Vatskalis said all are here because they want to do business with the Territory.

Mr Vatskalis said the message he wanted to come from an International Relations Conference on Thursday is that Darwin and the Territory are open for business.

The conference features speeches by the Ambassador of China, The High Commissioner of India, The Ambassador of Vietnam and the Ambassador of Greece.

The conference will also be attended by diplomatic, trade and business representatives from City of Darwin’s Sister and Friendship Cities, including China, Greece, Timor-Leste, Indonesia and Ecuador.

Government representatives from Vietnam and Hobart City Council will also be in Darwin for the program, which also includes an International Trade Show Friday and Garramilla International Food Fair on Friday 23 May 2025.

The International Trade Show is at Darwin DoubleTree by Hilton on Esplanade on Friday from 9am to 1.30pm.

There will be 60 local and international vendors showcasing products, travel ideas, business opportunities, education information, training and jobs.

The International food fair will be from 5pm to 9pm at Bicentennial Park, near the playground.
