UPDATE: Mitchell St in the Darwin CBD has been closed as protesters march towards Parliament House, rallying against vaccines and mandates.

The group is chanting as it marches, with a common chant coming from some in the Greek community.

“Gunner’s a malaka,” the group can be heard shouting, using the Greek word for d*ckhead.

“Gunner’s gotta go.”

EARLIER: PROTESTERS have again gathered on the Darwin Esplanade on Saturday to rally against the Territory government’s vaccine mandate for workers who come into contact with people vulnerable to Covid-19.

The group braved the 35C heat to vent their spleens at the impost of forced protection from a slow, painful death through a global pandemic that has so far claimed the lives of almost five million people worldwide.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner has again slammed the attendees.

“Different day, same answer: get vaxxed for yourself, for your loved ones, for people you’ve never met,” he said.

“Covid will get here eventually, the vaccine is your best protection, th ebest way to save your life.”

After last week’s rally, Mr Gunner’s wife and son had to leave their home to seek safety elsewhere after the family’s address was broadcast at the protest.

Chief health officer Hugh Heggie has reassured Territorians that the vaccine iss safe, urging people to roll up their sleeves to protect themselves and their loved ones.

“It hasn’t got microchips in it or 5G SIM cards,” he said.
