HAILEYBURY Rendall School principal Craig Glass will resign at the end of the year and be replaced by a leading independent school educator.
In a letter to parents from chairman Tom Poulton, he announced Mr Glass would end his three-year tenure as principal in 2020 and return to Melbourne.
Mr Poulton thanked Mr Glass and his wife deputy principal Kerry for their dedication to the school.
“Craig and Kerry Glass have made an extraordinary contribution in their leadership of the School,” he said.

“They came with the intention of spending up to three years at HRS and have every right to feel proud leaving now knowing that the school is on track for continued enrolment growth and academic and education success. We look forward to giving them a fitting farewell at the end of the year.”
Mr Glass will be replaced by Andrew McGregor, who is currently associate principal at Westbourne Grammar in Melbourne.
Mr Glass said he was thrilled to welcome his successor to Haileybury.
“I have worked with Andrew, or observed his contribution to education, for over 30 years,” he said.

“He is a wonderful appointment for HRS. He has an excellent understanding of Haileybury culture as well as broad experience in a range of leading schools. Andrew will bring passion, energy and expertise to HRS as it continues its journey of excellence.”
Mr McGregor has previously worked as head of senior school at Haileybury Melbourne’s Berwick Campus, and at independent schools Carey Grammar in Melbourne, and Wesley College.
He will be joined in Darwin by his wife Jane French and their twin 11-year-old boys Aidan and Regan who will be attending the School.
