One of the Top End’s leading schools has appointed a new principal.
Good Shepherd Lutheran College welcomed experienced educator Matthew Qualischefski as principal in October, taking the reigns from Rachel Boyce.
Mr Qualischefski has extensive experience in non-government school education, most recently head of campus (middle and senior years) at Trinity Lutheran College in Ashmore, Queensland.
Mr Qualischefski has a Master of Education and Postgraduate Certificate of Education Leadership and is a member of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders.
“In partnership with deputy principal Jason Mustin, the College is well placed to continue to grow and develop as an outstanding Christian learning environment where students and staff can flourish,” a release from the school read.
Mr Qualischefski said his first few days as principal were productive and was eager to meet more parents and families.
“I have felt extremely welcome as I have started to meet students, parents, staff and community members,” he said.
“I am stirred by the existing strengths of the College and am excited about the opportunities before us.
“I look forward to working together with students, staff, families and community as we continue to build on these strengths.”
The College’s previous principal Rachel Boyce joined the Association of Independent Schools NT as deputy director in 2021.
Good Shepherd opened in 1998 and has three campuses in Howard Springs, Palmerston and Leanyer.
