Campers perched up at various twists and turns throughout the course, each vying for the premium spot which gave them unrivalled views.
Over at Camp Chaos, Perthians Geoff, Sue, and Zac House drove all the way from WA to catch a glimpse of this year’s Finke action.
But while the the younger House had to go back to Karratha for work, the two elder Houses were going to head into Queensland afterward.
For Geelongite’s Darcy Ingram, Sam Batterybury and Aaron Burnie, it was their first time in the Territory.
They said the nature was the best part – before joking that rest was “underwhelming.”

June 8: Finke fever is worldwide with punters travelling from interstate, or even internationally, to catch this year’s action at the famous race.
Friends Aimee Pearce and Sheryl Stasiowski, originally from the US, said this was their first time at Finke.
Ms Pearce has moved to Alice Springs and missed out on last year’s Finke by a couple of months, and said she wasn’t going to miss it this year.
“I’ve never seen a race like this,” she said.
“I’m really looking forward to the motorbikes later.”
Ms Stasiowski had travelled all the way from the US to visit her friend – and had arrived just in time for the race.
Meanwhile, after spending two years in Australia, a trio of aged care workers originally from the Solomon Islands decided to spend their day off watching the Prologue.
Selina Tuita, Miriam Puka, and Selina Ratu said it was their first time at Finke and they were enjoying it so far.
Meanwhile, Mark Myers and Tom Burns rode to the races from NSW, and said they liked Alice Springs and the town.
Others had travelled from Perth to support their friends racing, while plenty of locals with a love for the race were out and about.
