A NEW Territorian has shared his story of migrating to the Territory from interstate during the COVID-19 pandemic, and why he’s urging others to move as well.

Government reveals new "COVID normal" plan

A CHANGE of scenery, lifestyle and opportunity are why Victorians and other southerners are flocking to the Territory during the coronavirus pandemic.

Lucas Jellyman-Turner made the move from Victoria to the NT earlier this year to pursue a new sporting path and lifestyle, with the flexibility of working remotely sealing his decision.

“I moved to the Territory to play NTFL football with St Mary’s,” he said.

“I am lucky enough to run my own online subscription business, so I am able to work remotely or whenever the winds blows me.

“I moved out of Melbourne to come up to the NT and experience a different style of living while also playing footy up here as well.”

Mr Jellyman-Turner said it was easily one of the best decisions he’d made.

“I’m loving it,” he said.

“Everyone in the Territory is very welcoming and friendly.

“The weather is also unreal compared to Vic.”

Mr Jellyman-Turner has since become an advocate for the Territory and urged southerners to shift their eyes to the magic of the NT.

“I’ve mentioned it to quite a few friends back in Vic that are struggling to find work back in Melbourne, that if they want a lifestyle change the Territory would be perfect with its welcoming people and good weather,” he said.

“It would be a perfect move.”
