Four new COVID-19 cases in NT, including three from India and a US marine

The Territory has reported four new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to Monday morning, NT Health has revealed.

THERE have been another four cases added to the Northern Territory’s COVID-19 case count.

Among them is a US marine on rotation in the Top End, a statement from the NT government said on Monday.

The 25-year-old man is reportedly asymptomatic.

Meanwhile, a one-year-old boy and two women, aged 36 and 46, have tested positive in Howard Springs overnight.

The three are believed to have arrived in the Territory aboard a repatriation flight from India on April 17.

They are the latest in a surge of COVID-19 cases from the Indian subcontinent being discovered within Howard Springs.

The toddler and 46-year-old woman are asymptomatic, while the 36-year-old woman is showing mild symptoms.

There have now been 121 positive cases of COVID-19 in the NT’s repatriation system, making up the bulk of the Territory’s total of 164 cases since the pandemic began.
