Femal police officer conveyed to hospital after allegedly being assaulted by woman bearing a stick
A woman has been charged after allegedly assaulting an NT police officer when she was told get out of the middle of the road.

A WOMAN allegedly assaulted a police officer with a stick after police spotted the woman using the weapon to hold up traffic in Alice Springs on Saturday at 7.36am.
NT Police Senior Sergeant Alan Milner said police were travelling down Gap Rd in The Gap when they spotted the woman armed with the stick.
“She was in the middle of the road when police challenged her and she failed to comply with lawful directions,” S/Sgt Milner said.
“She was restrained, during of course which one of the members was assaulted by the female, resulting in a minor injury to the head.”
S/Sgt Milner said the officer sought medical attention.
“The female was conveyed to the Alice Springs Hospital for a health assessment,” he said.
“Later she was charged with one count of disorderly behaviour in a public place and one count of assaulting a police officer.”
