Labor’s Member for Johnston has had first hand experiences of his Government’s problems with law and order … in fact far too much of it.
Mr Vowles, who is well known for his honesty and telling it how it is, sent a very blunt message to the youth who threw a rock at his car cracking his window screen.
“Thanks you little ass wipe,” Mr Vowles wrote on facebook.
The rock you threw at my car while I was driving and then the abuse you yelled was very eloquent.
“Enough is enough.
“Teach your bloody kids some responsibility and respect and they won’t do this.
“Parents have to take responsibility for these kids doing shitty things in our community. Earlier this year we’ve had bikes stolen, attempted break in at home and our cars ransacked.”
Mr Vowles comments drew a variety of responses with some taking the opportunity to point out that he is a member of the Government that has the responsibility to fix law and order problems.
However a good many applauded Mr Vowles for putting party politics aside and telling it how it is. Some even suggested that is why he should be Chief Minister.
Latest NT crime statistics in the 12 months to August 31 this year reveal that property break-ins across the whole of the Northern Territory have increased by 9 per cent, with 2392 reported this year
