Power and Water estimates the Territory’s water supply will need to be supplemented by 2025 just to keep up with demand for drinking water in the Top End.
The CLP’s plan includes fast-tracking construction of major water infrastructure, which would be done by tapping into the Federal Government’s $1.5 billion National Water Infrastructure Fund.
The party would also move to decrease how much water Power and Water draw from the McMinn’s and Howard East bore fields.
Ms Finocchiaro also flagged the option of bringing Manton Dam back online for water while keeping it for recreational use.
