The new McDonald’s restaurant will be run by the Casuarina Square McDonald’s licensee Vicki Lettice, who owns several Top End McDonald’s stores, including Ludmilla and Katherine.
The McDonald’s Casuarina Square Shopping Centre outlet is less than a kilometre away from the new site. Casuarina Square expects the fast food chain will continue to operate in the Casuarina Square food court for at least another couple of years. McDonald’s currently has a lease at Casuarina Square which expires in 2024.
The clearing of the Home Hardware site will allow construction of the new MacDonald’s to progress in earnest. It is understood it will include a multi-lane drive thru, events room and space for 100 patrons to dine and children's play space. The land on which the new Bradshaw Tce store will be built sold for $4 million. The McDonald’s store will join Red Rooster and Hungry Jack’s in the immediate vicinity, with several other options at the Village shopping centre.
