UPDATED: Authorities have confirmed a fire burning at Lee Point, in Darwin’s northern suburbs, has been contained.
The grassfire earlier required emergency crews to light backburns to help control the blaze.

EMERGENCY crews are responding to a grassfire burning in Darwin’s northern suburbs.
A spokeswoman for the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services said crews were conducting backburning in the vicinity of Aldenham Rd and Lee Point caravan park.
The spokeswoman said no properties were under threat at this time.
Motorists are being urged to drive slowly and take care of passing emergency vehicles.
