A 13-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged in relation to an alleged group break-in of a property in Alice Springs.

About 8pm on Sunday a security guard was patrolling a commercial building when he interrupted four male youths who were allegedly rummaging through work stations before they attempted to run away.

The security guard detained one of the youths until police arrived.

The teenager was charged with unlawful entry, possessing a house breaking implement, and stealing.

He was remanded in custody and to appear in the local court on Monday.

Strike Force Viper detectives will continue to investigate to identify the remaining three youths.
