THE NT government has released designs for a new 90-bay car park in the city.
The redevelopment involves removing the current car park next to Parliament House and will include a lawn that can accommodate events and activities.
“By cooling the CBD and activating our public spaces, we’re making Darwin an even more attractive destination” Member for Port Darwin Paul Kirby said.
Local business, Clouston Associates, completed the design that includes trees for shading, plants, lighting and furniture.
Pathways will connect the State Square and Native Landscape Garden to the Esplanade.

Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics Eva Lawler, said the government was ensuring local jobs and businesses were supported.
The construction tender is expected to be released in April.
The redevelopment is part of the $200m Darwin City Deal with State Square.
