De Pasquale sets fastest-ever qualifying lap at Hidden Valley to score pole position for first Supercars race this weekend

Shell V-Power Racing Team driver Anton De Pasquale has set the fastest-ever qualifying lap at Hidden Valley to score pole position for the the first Supercars race of the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown weekend this afternoon.

SHELL V-Power Racing Team driver Anton De Pasquale has set the fastest-ever qualifying lap at Hidden Valley to score pole position for the first Supercars race of the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown weekend this afternoon.

The pole was De Pasquale’s third in succession in the Supercars series, matching a 30-year-old record set by Mark Skaife.

De Pasquale had an issue at the hairpin but a sizzling final sector saw the 25-year-old register a qualifying lap record time of 01:05.2904, beating Scott McLaughlin’s qualifying lap record of 1:05.4737s, which was set in 2019.

Veteran Mark Winterbottom will line up alongside De Pasquale on the front row of the grid for the 38-lap race, which will start at 3:25pm this afternoon.
