“We still have many people who have hung on and haven’t accepted refunds on bookings for the Cup Carnival so this opens the door for them to come now.
“The month’s notice will work and people can now prepare and so can we for an influx of tourists, which will have benefits across the Darwin economy.
“This is enormous for the Cup Carnival, especially with Ladies Day on July 22 and the Gala Ball. Plans are in play right now for the Qantas Gala Ball to be held at the Darwin Turf Club on Saturday, August 1, alongside our new Silks social club. Our aim is to reduce ticket pricing this year by having it on our greenfield site.”
The Darwin Cup is on Monday, August 3.
