JACOB Roe fears the gang who left him bloodied from a baseball bat attack — who are yet to be charged by police — will return again to terrorise his family.

Mr Roe, 21, was struck above the temple with the bat at the front of the family’s Gulnare St residence in Millner nearly three weeks ago during a violent confrontation. He stumbled back to the front door, bleeding profusely, collapsed and was rushed to hospital. Still bearing eight stitches in his forehead which patched up the gaping wound, the family remain shaken by the terrifying ordeal.

His father Bradley Roe is worried the attackers would return while they remain unpunished by police. The incident unfolded on the afternoon of March 31 following what Mr Roe described as a minor disagreement outside Darwin Local Court between his daughter and a girl from another family.

Later that afternoon, up to 20 members of another family armed with bats and chains stormed into the Roe home.

Bradley Roe broke down in tears when he recalled the danger his family faced that day. He believed the family who was behind the attack lived only two streets away and he has since seen them while shopping.

“Fifteen boys jumped out and they were all armed all with baseball bats and chains,” he said. “No-one has been held accountable for their actions. They came to my place and hit my son with a baseball bat.”

Jacob said he was still feeling the affects of the savage blow. “I feel a little better now but I still feel a little bit numb in the head,” he said.

An NT Police spokeswoman confirmed no-one had been charged over the incident and are awaiting to view mobile phone footage of the incident.

“This matter remains under investigation by Northern Territory Police...,” she said.
