A DARWIN man is believed to have set a new world record for completing the most push-ups in one minute while carrying a 100lb (45kg) pack.
Adam Drake completed 52 push-ups in 60 seconds with the pack on his back at Next Level Gym this morning.
It is three more push-ups than the current record of 49, which was set by Alejandro Soler Tarí in Spain on September 11, 2020.

Mr Drake, who is a former Australian Ninja Warrior contestant, said he had been training for the attempt for about a year, and was “stoked” to have achieved it.
He said his main motivation had been to inspire the young people at Darwin’s Don Dale Youth Detention Centre, where he works running the Balanced Choice program, that they could achieve anything they put their minds to.
“I was wrapped when I got (the record), but the first thing I thought was now I can say to the kids, ‘beat that’, because I know that they can,” he said.
“I know if I’m setting goals and achieving them, then that’s an example to those kids that they can also chase their goals and change their behaviours.”
