TWO Territorians who took out first place in the 2020 Fashion on your Front Lawn competition have claimed their prizes.
Darwin residents Christine Speilmann and Sherlon Garbo won the women’s and men’s competitions respectively in the Melbourne Cup Carnival’s nationwide search for the most stylish race day outfits.
Ms Spielmann said finally getting the keys to the new Lexus cars made last November’s win finally sink in.
“When we first saw the car it was very much like ‘this is real’,” she said.
“Before that it was a bit surreal.”
This year, Ms Spielmann is set to participate as one of the judges for the Fashions on the Field competition for the Great Northern Darwin Cup Carnival.

The pair also took home $4500 worth of Myers gift cards, Ampler luggage, a TV and fully funded trips to the 2021 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
