Darwin 4WD, Boating and Camping Expo features Craft Beer Festival and Lee Kernaghan concert

This year’s 4WD, Boating and Camping Expo is shaping up as a lifestyle event our city has never had experienced.

THE best of the Northern Territory’s leisure lifestyle industry is going on show at the end of the month at the Darwin 4WD, Boating and Camping Expo in what is shaping up as a lifestyle event our city has never had experienced.

It will be high-end business with pleasure.

Boating, Camping and 4WD Expos are nothing new to Darwin, but none have included a Craft Beer Festival and a concert. 37-time Golden Guitar winner and Australian music icon, Lee Kernaghan is heading to Darwin to play the inaugural Darwin 4WD, Boating and Camping Expo concert.

Kernaghan and his band will headline the concert playing alongside local support acts in a full concert production at the Darwin Showgrounds.

The concert gates open at 6pm after the Expo closes at 4pm.

The newly created Darwin Craft Beer Festival kicks off at the Darwin 4WD, Boating and Camping Expo on Saturday 26 and Sunday June 27.

The festival runs from 11am on the expo show days and throughout the concert. Event director Alan Rogers said the craft beer festival was focused on the brewers of the NT.

“We are only presenting premium local product,” Mr Rogers said.

“We are fortunate to have all the NT Brewers supporting the event and we look forward to presenting and promoting their products.”

The Darwin 4WD, Boating and Camping Expo will present the latest industry products, accessories and services in a large-scale outdoor exhibition. Mr Rogers said online ticketing will provide a contactless and speedy entry into the event.

“Industry support for the show has certainly exceeded expectations given the situation and problems related to the pandemic,” he said. “The great thing is people can physically see like products and are able to properly compare apples with apples.

“Patrons can speak with industry experts willing to share their product knowledge and decisions can be made with confidence.”

Mr Rogers said Kernaghan was set to play at the Expo last year. “Obviously because of Covid we couldn’t make anything happen then, so it is great to have the chance again,” he said. “Lee will be performing his latest album Backroad Nation along with hits that has made him a star of Australian music.”
