TERRITORIANS weren’t the only ones getting a tan this week.
A couple of crocodiles were spotted chilling at a Top End dam, enjoying the scenic view of the water.
Sulav Pant, who snapped the reptiles, said he was surprised to see not one, but two crocodiles basking in the sun at the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve – a protected area consisting of a wetland area approximately 70 kilometres east of Darwin.
Mr Pant said he was driving out to Fogg Dam with a friend when he spotted them on the rocks on the edge of the road.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen crocs in the wild,” he said.
He said both were longer than six feet long.
“They were just sitting there in the sun with their mouth open.
“I took the photos on my phone.”
He said it was “pretty good”.
Territorians are urged to be wary of crocs during the wet season.
