Cracker night not all fun and games for four-legged friends
Territorians are being urged to take care of their fur friends ahead of cracker night. A local vet has also shared some tips.

WOBBLY the Bull Arab and Alvy the Darwin special will be getting extra attention this Territory Day as Territorians once again get their hands on fireworks.
Their owner Molly Upstill said she would be bringing the dogs inside this Thursday, July 1, and putting a movie on in an effort to distract them from the sounds. She said the dogs got nervous as they didn’t understand the loud noises.

“He is a big sook and will just come up to you with his puppy dog eyes and look nervous more than anything,” Ms Upstill said. ”Even though he’s been around guns as a pigging dog it’s the fear of the unknown.”
Ark Animal Hospital owner Stephen Cutter said there were a few things owners could do to look after their furry or feathered friends.
“If you are not able to spend the night with your dog, securely lock them up in a dark, comforting, escape proof area,” Dr Cutter said.
“Never leave a dog chained or tied up unattended because they may choke or hang themselves in their panic.”
