THE AstraZeneca vaccine has arrived in the Northern Territory.

A NT Health spokeswoman announced this morning that the first batch of the vaccine has now arrived.

“NT Health can confirm the first 1600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Darwin yesterday for the NTG vaccine program. These will be used for the Phase 1B cohort rollout,” she said.

“Phase 1B commences from next week with initial recipients to be health care workers, emergency workers and high risk populations such as renal and cancer care patients, and other at-risk cohorts.

“NTG will also be continuing to administer second doses of the Pfizer vaccine for Phase 1A frontline workers.”

The spokeswoman said more than 4400 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the Territory so far.

She said more than 200 frontline workers had received their second dose and were now fully vaccinated.
