WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOUR RAPID ANTIGEN TEST COMES BACK POSITIVE?

You should isolate immediately and declare your positive result online using the RAT declaration form. You should also let members of your household and any close contacts know of the positive result and register for the Covid CareNT program.

WHERE CAN I ACCESS THE RAT DECLARATION FORM?

The declaration form can be found on the coronavirus NT website. Complete the form if you need to declare that you have completed your RAT requirements as a condition of entry into the NT or to notify that you have had a positive result.

WHAT IS THE COVID CARENT PROGRAM?

The program is designed to ensure that all positive people have appropriate medical and social support for the duration of their illness.

WHO TELLS YOUR CLOSE CONTACTS THAT THEY ARE CLOSE CONTACTS?

When you return a positive Covid result you should tell your household and other close contacts of the test result. A close contact is someone who has spent more than four hours in contact with a positive person.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOU ARE IDENTIFIED AS A CLOSE CONTACT?

If you are identified as a close contact you are required to isolate and take a rapid antigen test within three days of your isolation period and on day 6.

WHAT IF I AM A CLOSE CONTACT AND ALSO AN ESSENTIAL WORKER?

Essential workers undertaking isolation may leave isolation to undertake essential work if they have no symptoms, are fully vaccinated, have a negative RAT each day before attending and ensure they monitor for symptoms.

WHEN CAN I LEAVE ISOLATION?

If you are in isolation as Covid positive person or close contact, you can now have a rapid antigen test on day 6 of your isolation period. If you receive a negative result, you can leave isolation at 12 noon on day 7. If you receive a positive result or do not have a day 6 test, you must stay in isolation until noon on day 10.

IF I TEST POSITIVE TO A RAPID ANTIGEN TEST DO I NEED TO TAKE A PCR TEST AS WELL?

No, you are no longer required to have your positive RAT result confirmed by a PCR test.

WHEN SHOULD YOU GET TESTED FOR COVID-19?

You should get tested for Covid if you’re showing symptoms such as a cough, fever, shortness of breath, muscle aches, change in taste and smell and a sore throat.

WHY WON’T THE COVID HOTLINE GET BACK TO ME?

Simply it is over run due to a high volume of calls. If possible use the Covid declaration form instead.
