Country Liberals candidate Kathy Ganley has hastily deleted a social media rant defending some of her most controversial moments on the campaign trail.
In a lengthy post that was deleted yesterday, the Solomon candidate wrote out a list of the struggles she’s dealt with this year, in the lead up to the election.
“It hasn’t been easy,” she said.
“I was professionally insulted by not being reappointed to the Mental Health Tribunal despite 32 years of significant relevant experience and qualifications.
“Bullied and harassed on social media, and professionally insulted by being likened to a member of the KKK by two young Labor members without merit or apology.
“Worse, one is a paid staffer and the other, along with his mother and sister, continue to help in Labor’s campaign! Meanwhile, I’ve campaigned with no pay!
“Castigated for the use of ‘slang’ when addressing a fantasy land proposal and political activist who regularly wrote to the paper.
“Criticised by a hairdresser whose salon is directly in front of the Darwin CBD AEC polling booth at Double Tree Hilton.”
Ms Ganley said she had also been unfairly criticised for not agreeing to live debates.
“Criticised in the final week of campaign for not agreeing to live debates, despite scheduled commitments to continue to meet face-to-face with Territorians,” she said.

“Oh and by the way, it is against the norm to do so in the final week of an election campaign and I have never been personally invited to a one-on-one interview by any stations despite being preselected 13 months ago!

“Regardless of the outcome on Saturday, thank you Territorians.
“It truly has been a special year, one I will never forget.”
