THE Chief Minister’s office has refused to say whether Treasury provided a briefing document to cabinet when Michael Gunner walked the $12m Turf Club grant into cabinet.
Treasury briefing documents, named ‘yellows’ because they’re printed on yellow paper, are almost always provided with all substantial taxpayer-funded proposals put before cabinet.
It comes after it was revealed Mr Gunner had been the minister responsible for bringing in the $12m Turf Club submission into cabinet.
The NT News asked Mr Gunner’s office at 9am Friday: “Was Treasury analysis (yellow) provided in the submission, which is standard even in underarmers?”
The question has yet to receive a direct response, hours after deadline.
Mr Gunner’s office was also asked whether the recent events had damaged his standing, which also went unanswered.
His office assured the NT News Mr Gunner enjoyed the support of his Labor Party colleagues.
