Cathy Freeman will be sharing her story at the AusIndustry Business Support Showcase in Alice Springs as part of October Business Month on October 8, 2024.

This is a free event with limited seating, registration via www.obm.nt.gov.au is required for entry.

Billed as an afternoon of learning, connecting, and growing, Cathy Freeman will share her inspirational story and life achievements at the AusIndustry Business Support Showcase.

During a Q&A session, hosted by facilitator Dale McIver, Cathy will address the importance of courage and commitment in the pursuit of business and personal goals.

A proud Kuku Yalanji and Birri Gubba woman, Cathy etched her name in history as an Australian Indigenous Olympic champion.

Drawing on her trailblazing path to success – from a young Indigenous girl with a passion for running, to Olympic Gold Medallist, Cathy is a strong advocate for Indigenous rights.

From “I think I can” to “I know I will,” Freeman’s keynote will help cultivate a mindset filled with confidence, determination, and resilience to achieve their ambitions.

Supporting Cathy will be Territory Success Story Ikuntji Artists, represented by Roseranna Larry, Dr Chrischona Schmidt and Haley Dodd.

Together they will share the story of how their art centre has experimented, innovated and pushed boundaries to become a multi-award-winning Indigenous art centre.

The AusIndustry Business Support Showcase incorporates an exhibition and six workshops to showcase the support mechanisms available from the Australian Government, Territory Government, and non-government organisations to establish, operate and grow businesses.
