CARAVAN park operators say a small wave of interstate tourists have already started to arrive in Alice Springs after NT’s quarantine rules eased on Monday.
From Monday, people who arrive from interstate will be allowed to self isolate for 14-days in their own chosen accommodation, including caravans.
In Alice Springs, some caravan parks are already welcoming new interstate arrivals crossing the border.

G’day Mate Tourist Park owner Linda Wilcox said five caravans were arriving over the next few days.
BIG4 MacDonnell Range Holiday Park are also expecting about 10 new arrivals this week, mostly coming from Queensland.
“We’ve been empty for the last few months, so to finally get some new caravans coming through the gate is a great relief,” Ms Wilcox said.
“It seems a lot of people are coming up from South Australia after being stuck there during the pandemic.
“Most of will be spending the 14 days here, while some are just stopping here before they arrive at their self-isolation destination.”
Interstate travellers are required to get to their nominated place of self‐quarantine within 48 hours of arriving in the NT.

People who need to travel for more than an hour before they reach their destination will need to outline planned fuel and rest stops and overnight accommodation details in a Border Arrival Form, which you complete on arrival to the NT.
