The 59-year-old female driver, whose name was not released at the request of her next-of-kin, was killed in a Humpty Doo bus rollaway in 2017, just days after a similar near-miss by another Buslink vehicle.
The company was charged with six offences for “failing in its duty to protect its drivers, passengers and the community from the risk of rollaway incidents,” according to NT WorkSafe.
In a statement Wednesday, NT WorkSafe said the company would undertake $660,000 worth of measures to improve safety in its drivers and fleet.
