After several reports of blood clotting in patients who had received AstraZeneca vaccine, Scott Morrison announced on April 8 the Pfizer jab would be preferred for people aged under 50.

NT Health Minister Natasha Fyles said the Territory’s vaccine rollout would need to be “recalibrated” following the health advice.

A Western Australian woman aged in her 40s who was rushed to the Royal Darwin Hospital in intensive care earlier this month is among those understood to have experienced blood clotting as a result of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Mr Gunner added the NT government preferred Territorians under 50 to receive the Pfizer vaccine.
