THE birth of a new Hudson in Chief Minister Michael Gunner’s electorate has created excitement.
The birth took place just a short stroll from Mr Gunner’s electorate office.
Hudson Parap is the latest addition to Darwin’s accommodation sector. The 84 serviced apartments, which include studio, and one, two and three bedroom apartments, are the rebirthed Quest serviced apartments.
The Quest sign came down in March this year after its lease expired and since then there has been much speculation on what the future held for the popular holiday destination.
With the “Now Open” sign hanging from the building, that mystery has been resolved.
Since the closure the tired exterior of the building has undergone a facelift of sorts with a change of colour and the new branding now in place.

The building has swapped its pale pink look for a more modern mixed tones of grey. Internally the rooms have also undergone upgrades, giving them a fresh new look. This includes new carpet, linen and paint to all rooms, lobby and common areas upgrades.
The arrival of Hudson Parap could not have been better timed, with the Darwin dry season in full swing and the town awash with Darwin Cup revellers.
