Nominations are in and voting is open for the very best gym in the Northern Territory for 2023. Vote now for your favourite to boost their chance of winning.

The nominations are in for the best gym in the Northern Territory with establishments and groups from Alice Springs to the Top End in the running for the prestigious honour - plus a rare NT News muscle singlet.

We’ve put together a poll with the most frequent entrants from the ever-popular Crossfits to some old favourites, and now it’s up to you to vote for the best.

CrossFit Alice Springs was among the most nominated entries and is expected to be a popular option alongside other CrossFit franchises in the Top End.

Several voters said the establishment was the best because it “catered to all ages and abilities, while the coaches are awesome”.

Trilogy Fitness at the Gateway Shopping Centre was another popular nomination, as was Fitnessworks in Nightcliff.

The latter received several glowing reviews with people saying the family run business had “the best classes with great, friendly and knowledgeable instructors”.

Long-time favourites such as Evolve Fitness NT and Lasseters Health Club in Alice Springs also made the long list of entrants.

Harry Owen, one of the Territory’s strongest men, said the best gyms aren’t just built on physical strength, but also community strength.

Having recently set the NT’s deadlift, stone, and log press records in the Open Men’s category, he said it was the “inspiring and fun” people surrounding him at the Top End Strength Centre that kept him coming back

“It’s a fun thing to do for me personally, but it’s also just a fun crew to be a part of,” Mr Owen said.

“I might not want to train one day, but I’ll be here to help someone else train.

“They’ve been very supportive in that way, and competitions can be a little bit challenging for new people, and you step into the gym and suddenly the audience is there with you, everyone’s cheering for you.”
